DHAKA: The app-based ride-sharing services including Uber and Pathao have suspended operation amid growing concerns revolving the delivery of a verdict against BNP Chief Khaleda Zia in a graft case Thursday (February 8).

In an announcement issued early in the morning, Uber said they are facing obstructions to run the service.
Pathao, MUV and Easier also have been found closed and aren’t accepting any request.

Though SAM and Sohoz ride apps were found open but couldn’t be sent any ride request.

Sources from a ride-sharing service told Banglanews that they were given directions at the night to suspend the service temporarily, for security reasons.

On Thursday, Dhaka sees thin traffic as vehicle movement were limited as part of ensuring tougher security to avoid any untoward situation marking announcement of the verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
