DHAKA: American tennis star Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian tied the knot at the Contempary Art Center in New Orleans' Warehouse District, reports WWL TV.

The star studded guest list included Beyonce and Jay-z, Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria on the night of Thursday (November 16).

Celebrities arrived in limos that were driven into tents set up in the parking lot. The tents were zipped and the celebrities exited the limos into the CAC. Although it was hard to get a glimpse of the bride and groom or guests it didn't stop paparazzi and local residents from trying.

"We just wanted to get a glimpse of Serena and feel her nuptial vibes," fan Bloom Peters said.

"Basking in her gloriousness," Mary Huber added.

Williams decided to have her wedding in the Crescent City after spending years visiting and training here with fitness expert Mackie Shilstone. Shilstone says Williams fell in love with New Orleans and had to have her wedding here. 

"It's gonna be a wonderful event and they're blessed to be here in New Orleans," Shilstone said.

Resident say they're feeling pretty blessed too.

Some of the residents who went by the venue love Serena for her athleticism. 

"I'm a huge Serena Williams fan," said on Jill Saboie. "My son played college tennis and he's a big tennis fan and tennis player so I wanted to send him a picture."

Others are inspired by her character.

"She's a fighter, she's a great person for women's causes," Peters said.

Whatever the reason, everyone was happy to share in the celebration even from the sidelines.
