DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader alleged that political miscreants have infiltrated the student movement to unhinge the country and attacked the Awami League office in disguise. 

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks at a press conference held in the party’s Dhanmondi political office on Saturday afternoon (August 4).

Earlier in the day, Students staging demonstration for road safety clashed with AL activists in city’s Jhigatola area.

Quader said 17 people of the AL office were injured in the attack by miscreants and admitted to different hospitals. 

“It was a politically motivated attack. BNP-Jamaat men are secretly entering among students and turning the movement into path of violence. It is a plot hatched by BNP-Jamaat,” he said. 

Mentioning that the Prime Minister has accepted all the demands, Quader told students to go home.
