Neutral govt a must thru national unity: Moudud BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed at a meeting in press club

DHAKA: Mentioning that it won’t be possible to overthrow the government in a systematic way, BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said nationally unity is needed to force the government for holding the election under non-partisan government.

He made the remarks in a discussion held at the VIP lounge of national press club on Saturday noon (July 14).

Zia Adarsha Academy organized the event demanding the release of jailed BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her proper treatment.

Mentioning that an inclusive poll is not possible without BNP’s participation, Moudud said, “Time is very limited. We have to take mental and physical preparations to prevent 2014-like election. We must not leave the election without challenging the ruling party.”

Moudud told party leaders and activists that it is time to protest. Programs will be announced in due time and we must prepare to get in the field.

Moudud also criticized the Election Commission saying that it utterly failed to hold a fair poll in Gazipur and Khulna.
