DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said that the protesters of quota reform movement have no relations with the political parties. 

Criticizing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s role regarding the quota issue, he said: “The premier told the parliament on April 11 that quota system won’t exist anymore. Again, she said on June 27 that the quota will continue. She didn’t keep her words as she doesn’t honor the parliament.” 
 
Moudud was addressing a program at the VIP Lounge of the Jatiya Press Club Friday (July 13).
 
“It has been heard that the home minister and the liberation war affairs minister said that there has been court order over the matter and the quota for the freedom fighters can’t be repealed. I don’t think any such verdict remains,” he added.

“If had any, the attorney general can change it anytime. Everything is possible if the intention is right,” he said further.

However, Moudud warned of justice for the police action and torture on the quota reform protesters.

Gonoshasthaya Kendra Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, BNP Vice Chairman Selima Rahman and BNP standing committee member Khaleda Yasmin, among others, attended the program.
