DHAKA: A Dhaka court sentenced six years jail to Sabira Sultana, the chairman of Jessore's Jhikargacha Upazila Parishad, over accumulating wealth from unknown sources.

Judge Shahidul Islam of Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-5 pronounced the verdict on Thursday (July 12).

The court issued an arrest warrant against Sabira as she is absconding. 

The court also confiscated Tk 1,00,78,135 of Sabira Sultana in favor of the government treasury.
