CUMILLA: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said BNP is making an issue out of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s illness.

Obaidul Quader made the remark after inspecting Padua Market Road of Cumilla on Comilla-Noakhali Highway on Sunday (June 17).

“BNP doesn’t care about Khaleda Zia’s health or her treatment. All they care about is create an issue for realization of their announcement of an all-out demonstration after Eid-ul-fitr,” Obaidul Quader said.

Turning to Khaleda Zia, he said, “She doesn’t worry about her health. For this reason, she doesn’t want to go to Combined Military Hospital (CMH).”

“Khaleda is receiving status of a first-class citizen in jail. She has her personal maid at her disposal, which doesn’t allow any other jail in the world. Whatever Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said is not acceptable without proof,” Obaidul Quader also said.
