BNP leader Giasuddin sued for ‘threatening PM’

CHITTAGONG: BNP central vice chairman Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury was sued for allegedly threatening the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with death. 

Chittagong’s Fatikchhari upazila unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president Jamaluddin filed a case against Giasuddin with Fatikchhari police station on Wednesday afternoon (May 30).

Moreover, some 60-70 unidentified men were accused in the case. 

Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury is the younger brother of Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury who was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity during the 1971 liberation war. 

Fatikchhari police station officer-in-charge (OC) Zakir Hossain confirmed the case filing matter Banglanews.

According to case statements, it has been accused that Giasuddin Quader, while addressing a rally in Fatikchhari upazila, threatened PM Sheikh Hasina saying, “Your (Sheikh Hasina) condition will be worse than your father (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman).”
