RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-5) arrested three members of banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam from Belpukur area of Rajshahi city early Monday (April 23).

The arrestees are- Md Raju Ahmmed, 24, son of Md Abu Bakar Siddique, Md Farhad Hossain, 30, son of Md Aktar Ali and Md Jahangir Alam, 36, son of Akkas Ali, residents of village Jamira of Belpukur.

RAB-5 company commander Major Asharaful Islam told Banglanews that, on information, a team of RAB-5 conducted a drive in Banshwar area under Belpukur thana and arrested Raju Ahmmed. 

Later based on the information given by him, RAB arrested two others along with some jihadi books, leaflets, mobile phone sets, SIM cards, memory cards and ID cards. They will be handed over to police station, he added.
