DHAKA: A Dhaka court issued arrest warrant against 23 persons including BNP Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu and journalist leader Showkat Mahmud, in two cases filed under explosive and special power acts.

Judge Kamrul Hasan Molla of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court issued the warrant after taking the charge sheet into cognizance Sunday (February 18).  

Additional Public Prosecutor Taposh Kumar Pal told Banglanews that BNP leaders Maruf Kamal Khan, Shamsur Rahman, Shimul Biswas, Shirin Sultana, Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel and Qaiyum commissioner are among the 41 accused in the cases. 

The cases were filed with Rampura Police Station, over carrying out sabotage and explosion in Rampura area during the BNP-enforced hartal and blockade in early February 2015.
