BNP’s memorandum to Dhaka DC for Khaleda’s release BNP leaders at the DC office

DHAKA: Leaders and activists of Dhaka district unit BNP handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioniner (DC) of Dhaka, demanding release of their party chief Khaleda Zia.

More than a hundred BNP men led by Dhaka district unit BNP President Md Salah Uddin Ahmed and Secretary General Khondker Abu Ashfaq gathered before the DC office at around 11:00am Sunday (February 18). 

Afterwards, some of them entered the office and handed over the memorandum to DC Mohammad Salah Uddin.   

However, additional policemen were deployed in the DC office area, to avoid any untoward incident. 

The memorandum claimed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia an innocent and the allegations against her in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case are false, baseless and politically influenced.
 
In the statement, the district unit BNP leaders and activists demanded immediate and unconditional release of Khaleda Zia who was jailed for five years in the corruption case recently. 

BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Barrister Ziaur Rahman, Dhaka District unit BNP Secretary Generals Rezaul Karim Paul, Rashedul Hasan Rashed, and Chhatra Dal President Hazi Masum were among others attended there.
