BNP to join polls though Khaleda in jail: Quader Obaidul Quader addresses the views-exchanging meeting

FENI:  Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said that BNP will take part in the next parliamentary elections even though the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia is in jail.

Obaidul Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said this while exchanging views with reporters at Feni Circuit House on Saturday (February 17).

“Although Khaleda Zia is in jail, BNP can take part in the election. There is no need to have dialogue with them. BNP has no capacity to hold effective programs across the country after Khaleda was sent to prison,” said Obaidul Quader.

“BNP doesn’t know how to carry out peaceful demonstration,” Quader said further.

He said, “It will take reasonable time to get the certified copy of the 633-page verdict of Khaleda Zia's case. There is no need to make fuss about it. Lawyers will get it soon.”

Feni Deputy Commissioner Monoj Kumar and District Awami League unit President Abdur Rahman were among others, present there.
