BNP launches mass-signature campaign for Khaleda Opening of the campaign

DHAKA: As part of fresh protest programs, BNP started mass signature collection campaign demanding unconditional release of their party chief Khaleda Zia who was jailed in a graft case.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir launched the campaign at the party central office in Nayapaltan at 11:15am Saturday (February 17).

BNP Standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and the leaders of central and Dhaka Metropolitan units put their signs, during the inauguration of countrywide campaign. 

Leaders of BNP’s associate bodies also attended the program launching 3-day fresh programs. 

The party earlier staged programs like human chain, sit-in and hunger strike.

However, BNP chairperson was sentenced to five years imprisonment in a graft case and sent to the central jail in old Dhaka on February 8.
