DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is set to speak at a press conference Wednesday (February 7) amid growing concerns centering the verdict against her in a graft case.

The media briefing will be held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan political office at 5:00pm, said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. 

It is being assumed that Khaleda will address the countrymen regarding the verdict against her.

Earlier, Standing committee of BNP hold a meeting at Khaleda’s Gulshan office Sunday night (February 4) and decided to hold the conference.

However, the verdict of Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case against BNP Chief Khaleda Zia will be delivered on February 8 (Thursday).

In July 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case accusing Khaleda, her son BNP's senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman and four others for misappropriating over Tk 2.10 crore grant money for orphans.
