DHAKA: BNP’s central information affairs secretary and former president of Jatiyatabai Chhatra Dal (JCD) Azizul Bari Helal was detained by detective branch (DB) of police on Wednesday (January 31), claimed his family members.

Police, however, said that they have no information in this regard.

P Haque, nephew of Azizul Bari Helal, said that his uncle along with five other people was detained by DB police when he came out his residence at Moghbazar in the city in the evening.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Maruf Hossain said that don’t know anything in this regard.
