Khaleda’s adviser Taimur arrested in sabotage case

NARAYNAGANJ: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Advocate Taimur Alam Khandakar was arrested from Narayanganj, in a sabotage case.

A team of Fatullah Model Police Station arrested Taimur from the Adalatpara area, at around 1:15pm Tuesday (January 23).

He was accused in several cases filed over sabotage activities.

Narayanganj District Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sharfuddin told Banglanews that Taimur was arrested following an arrest warrant issued against him in a sabotage case filed with the sadar police station.

Fatullah Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamaluddin said that two arrest warrants were issued against him. Of them, one was filed with the special tribunal and the other one was a GR (General Register) case. Of the two arrest warrants, one was issued in 2015.

However, pro-BNP lawyers of Narayanganj brought out a rally protesting the arrest of Taimur.

“We demand immediate release of Taimur Alam”, said Narayanganj District Bar Association Former President and Metropolitan BNP unit Vice President Advocate Shakhawat Hossain Khan.
