NARAYANGANJ: Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Dr Selina Hayat Ivy has been hospitalized after she fell sick at her office in Narayanganj on Thursday (January 18).

She was sent to Dhaka and admitted to a hospital in the capital city in the afternoon.

Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of the Narayanganj General Hospital Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.

He said that Dr Selina Hayat Ivy went to the Narayanganj hospital at about 4:00 pm. After medical check-up there, she was referred to Dhaka for further treatment. Later, she was sent to Dhaka, he added.

The Narayanganj mayor has been suffering from pressure and heart problem.

Earlier on January 16, Ivy along with several others sustained injuries in a factional clash between her supporters and the supporters of Awami League MP Shamim Osman during a hawker eviction drive in Narayanganj city.
