SATKHIRA: A local Awami League leader was slaughtered at Kaliganj upazila in Satkhira. Police recovered his body in the morning on Monday (November 20).

The incident of murder took place at about 10:00 pm on Sunday (November 19) at Koikhali dyke at Ashashuni under Kaliganj upazila.

The deceased AL leader- Solaiman Gazi is general secretary of Ward No 9 unit of Nolta union of the upazila. He is son of Muksed Gazi of Jhayamari village of the union.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashashuni police station Shahidul Islam told the Banglanews that they recovered the body and sent it to the Satkhira Sadar Hospital for autopsy. They are investigating the incident, he added.
