Hasina-led gov won’t interfere in polls: Shahjahan Shahjahan Khan

CHITTAGONG: Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan on Sunday (November 19) said that the current government led by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina won’t influence the election commission (EC) despite remaining in power.

The minister, as the chief guest, was addressing a program on occasion of launching the South Container Yard of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA).

Though the current government will be holding power in the three poll preparatory months but it won’t do any interference attempt into the functioning of EC, he said.

MP MA Latif, Israfil Alam, Customs Commissioner Dr AKM Nuruzzman were among others addressed the program chaired by CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal.

Criticizing BNP, he said, “BNP even unaware of what they actually crave for. Sometimes they want to be the caretaker government and sometimes polls-time government.”

He dismissed all the possibilities of sitting in any dialogues with BNP by terming them of ‘possessing bloody hands’.
