PM joins Suhrawardy rally, urges to thwart efforts to distort history

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the conspirators tried to distort the history of Bangladesh following the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15 in 1975.

She urged the countrymen to remain alert so that the agents of Pakistan can’t get the chance of distorting the history again.

Sheikh Hasina, also president of Bangladesh Awami League, was speaking as the chief guest at the grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on Saturday (November 18).

Awami League organized the rally under the banner of Nagarik Committee to celebrate the recognition to Bangabandhu’s Historic March 7 speech by the UNESCO.

In her speech, Sheikh Hasina said that a vested quarter was trying to erase the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his historic 7th March speech. They are evil forces of Pakistan. “We all will have to be united so that they can’t come to power ever,” she said.
