Khaleda reaches Cox’s Bazar to visit Rohingyas

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia reached Cox’s Bazar on Sunday evening (October 29). Her motorcade reached the district town at about 8:00 pm.  

She will stay overnight in Cox's Bazar Circuit House. The BNP chief is scheduled to visit the Rohingya refugee camps at Balukhali, Boalmari and Jamtali in Ukhia upazila in the district on Monday (October 30).

After distributing relief materials among the Rohingya refugees and inspecting their situation, she will return to Chittagong in the evening.

Wrapping up her four-day tour, Khaleda Zia will return Dhaka on Tuesday (October 31).

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the party’s standing committee members Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, vice chairmen Abdullah-al-Noman and Shamsuzzaman Khan Dudu and other senior leaders of the party are accompanying the BNP chief.  

Many leaders and activists of the party joined with Khaleda Zia’s motorcade from Nayapaltan central office, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Feni and several other places on her way.

Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence for Cox’s Bazar in the morning on Saturday (October 28).

On her way to Cox’s Bazar, the BNP chief’s motorcade came under attack in Feni on Saturday afternoon (October 28). Her motorcade came under attack when it reached Debipur of Fotehpur area in Feni at about 4:45 pm.

The miscreants in Feni vandalized 15 to 50 vehicles of the motorcade. Majorities of the attacked cars are media vehicles.

Later, the motorcade reached Feni Circuit House at about 5:00 pm and Khaleda Zia started her journey again for Chittagong after an hour break at Feni Circuit House.

She reached Chittagong at night and stayed overnight in Chittagong Circuit House. BNP leaders and activists staged a huge showdown in the port city on the occasion of Khaleda Zia’s arrival.

The BNP chief left Chittagong for Cox’s Bazar at noon on Sunday (October 29).
