Khaleda's caravan attacked again

FROM CARAVAN OF KHALEDA ZIA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade came under attack again also in Feni in the evening on Saturday (October 28) on her way to Cox’s Bazar.

The incident of repeated attack took place when the BNP chief’s caravan reached Nimchar area in Feni from Dhaka en route Cox’s Bazar.

The miscreants threw stones at the motorcade targeting the car of Khaleda Zia. She was unhurt and no damage of her car was reported.

However, glass of a vehicle of the motorcade was vandalized at the time. BNP chairperson’s wing member Shamsuddin Dider was in the vehicle.   
   
Earlier at about 4:45 pm, motorcade came under attack when it reached Debipur of Fotehpur area in Feni.

Later, the motorcade reached Feni Circuit House at about 5:00 pm and Khaleda Zia left Feni for Chittagong after an hour break at Feni Circuit House.

The miscreants in Feni vandalized 15 to 50 vehicles of the motorcade. Majorities of the attacked cars are media vehicles. No injury had been reported in that incident.

According to the BNP leader, the vehicles of DBC, Channel I, Boishakhi TV and Ekattor TV were vandalized in that attack. Some other vehicles carrying the BNP leaders and activists were also vandalized.  

However, the miscreants had snatched away the camera of Ekattor TV’s journalist who tried to capture photo of the attack.  
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has blamed the ruling Awami League for the terrorists’ attack on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in Feni.

In an immediate reaction, he said that the attack is ‘pre-planned’ “The AL mistreatment attacked on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in a planned way. The attack is on a peaceful and humanitarian work. It is shameful,” he said.    

BNP senior joint secretary general Rizvi Ahmed at a press conference in Dhaka also strongly protested and condemned the attack.

He came down heavily on the government and termed the attack an act of terrorism by the ruling party men.

Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence for Cox’s Bazar in the morning to visit Rohingya refugees who have taken shelter at the refugee camps after fleeing widespread violence in Myanmar.

She will stay her overnight in Chittagong Circuit House. She will start her journey for Cox’s Bazar on Sunday (October 28). She is scheduled to visit the refugee camps at Balukhali, Boalmari and Jamtali in Ukhia upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

After distributing relief materials among the Rohingyas and inspecting their situation, she will return Dhaka on Tuesday (October 31).
