DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Leaders and activists of BNP staged a procession in the High Court area in Dhaka while the party chairperson Khaleda Zia was en route to a special court in Bakshibazar of old parts of the city Thursday (October 19).

The BNP men were seen chanting slogans taking the streets from High Court mor to Doyel Chattar of Dhaka University (DU), at 11:15am.   

Police obstructed the procession as Khaleda Zia’s vehicle crossed the Doyel Chatter area on way to the court set up at Bakshibazar Alia Madrasha ground.

However, Khaleda appeared before the court and granted bail in Zia Orphanage and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.   

Earlier, she had been facing arrest warrants in five cases against her.

She returned home on Wednesday (October 18) after wrapping up her three-month long visit in the United Kingdom for treatment and personal reasons.
