BNP barred from staging procession, rally: Rizvi BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi speaking at an event

DHAKA: BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed alleged that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is barred from holding meetings, processions and rallies.

The BNP leader said this while speaking as chief guest in a meeting held at the VIP Lounge of National Press Club on Tuesday (October 17).

Rizvi said, “In political science, democracy means many parties, dissents, and congruity of tradition and faith. On the contrary, in Bangladeshi context, democracy means BNP is not supposed to hold meetings or stage rallies.”

The meeting entitled “Where is democracy leading to? Supreme court of justice must stand up against destruction,” was organized by Jatiya Oikya Parishad.

General Secretary Abdus Sattar Patwari was present as the special guest while President of the party Salahuddin Khan was in the chair.
