Bangladesh won’t respond to provocation on Rohingya issue Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader talking to reporters in Noakhali

NOAKHALI: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said the Bangladesh government will not respond to any kind of provocation of Myanmar on the Rohingya issue.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remark to reporters while distributing donation among sick and helpless people at his village in Companyganj of Noakhali on Saturday (Sep 23).

“The government has been dealing the Rohingya refugee issue very carefully. We are stepping forward to resolve the crisis under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina and it is not the time to be confused by provocation.”

Criticizing the opposition BNP for doing politics over the issue, he said, “The speech that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made during the 72nd general assembly of United Nations was praised by world leaders. The whole world liked it except one political party of our country. Either they didn’t listen to the speech or have no capacity to understand it. Basically they are just making out an issue to take political advantage.”

Additional Superintendent of Police AKM Jahirul Islam, Companyganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal, Upazila Awami League President Khijir Hayat Khan, Kabirhat Municipality Mayor and Upazila Awami League general secretary Jahirul Haque Raihan were also present at the event.
