RANGPUR: Former President and also Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad said that his party will take part in the next general election independently.  

Moreover, candidates are being finalized for 300 seats.

Ershad, also special envoy of Prime Minister, made the remarks while speaking to reporters at Rangpur Circuit House on Tuesday (August 22)
 
When asked, Ershad refused to comment on the much talked about Supreme Court verdict that scrapped the 16th amendment to the constitution.

Although, he alleged that the government has not taken enough measures to help flood-hit people of the country. But JP stood by them. Relief was distributed as much as JP could.

Earlier in the day, Ershad arrived at Saidpur airport from Dhaka and distributed relief materials among flood victims on way to Rangpur.
