DHAKA: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq was admitted to a hospital in United States as he fell sick seriously.

Sources close to the mayor told Banglanews on Wednesday (August 16) that Annisul is taking treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital in London.

DNCC Mayor’s Secretary AKM Mizanur Rahman said that the mayor is suffering from Cerebral vasculitis, swelling of the blood vessel wall involving the brain and occasionally the spinal cord.

He has been facing some problems while doing physical movements including vertigo and feeling restless while controlling the balance of body over past two months.

However, the disease—Cerebral vasculitis-- was diagonsed in him in London.    

Annisul’s Personal Assistant Abrur Hasan said that the mayor has been staying in London for one month. 

He went there to visit his newborn grandchild.

Besides, he is taking treatment there, added the PA.

However, on Wednesday, many social media users including Probhash Amin, a senior journalist at a private TV station in Dhaka and Siddiqui Nazmul Alam, former general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) posted about the mayor’s illness on Facebook.

Besides, many of the Facebook statuses read wishes for early recovery of the DNCC mayor.
