AL activist hacked to death in Magura

MAGURA: An Awami League activist was hacked to death by some unknown miscreants at Shablat village in Shalikha upazila of the district.

The deceased, identified as Abdur Rahman, came under attack while returning to his home from a local bazaar around 8:30pm on Monday (Aug 14).

Shalikha police station officer-in-charge (OC) Rabiul Islam told Banglanews that Abdur was critically injured in the attack. Locals rushed him to Magura Sadar hospital at first and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries Tuesday morning.

It is to be noted that a long standing faction clash between two groups of Awami League was prevailing in Shablat village. The groups were engaged in clashes before when more people got hurt or killed. Abdur Rahman might be a victim of that conflict, he added.
