‘BNP to wage movement if Govt doesn’t sit for talks’ BNP vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu speaking at a human chain program in front of Press Club on Tuesday (July 25), organized by Jatiyatabadi Gonotantrik Andolan.

DHAKA: BNP vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has said that his party wants to sit in talks with the government about the next Parliamentary elections.

“If the government does not sit with us in talks, we will be compelled to wage tougher movement to realize our key demand,” the BNP leader said at a human chain program on Tuesday (July 25).

Jatiyatabadi Gonotantrik Andolan, a pro-BNP organization, formed the human chain in front of the National Press Club in the city protesting conspiracy and propaganda of Awami League leaders about BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s London tour.

BNP central committee member and president of Swadhinata Forum Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah, the party’s central leader Meer Newaz Ali Newaz and Krishak Dal leader Shahjahan Mia Samrat also spoke at the function, among others, with  president of the organization Ameer Hossain Badshah in the chair.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu alleged that the ruling party leaders are spreading propaganda about Khaleda Zia’s London tour. He asked the ruling party men to be refrained from the false statement about Khaleda Zia’s foreign tour.

He said that the ruling Awami League wants to hold the next general elections under a partisan government to cling to the power. But their conspiracy will be foiled. The government will be forced to realize the demand for holding the next polls under an election-time neutral government, he said.
