No talks with BNP before polls: Nasim

DHAKA: Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim has said that no talks cloud be held with the BNP before the next elections.
 
Nasim, also health and family welfare minister, made this remark at a press conference in Awami League’s Dhanmondi office in the city on Tuesday (July 25).

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance leaders also attended the press conference. Among them, Shirin Akhter MP of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Fazle Hossain Badhsa of Workers’ Party and Dilip Barua of Samyabadi Dal.  

Nasim said, “It is just out of the question to hold talks with the BNP before the elections. No negotiation with those who oppressed people of the country. Therefore, the discussion will be with the EC.”
 
"BNP always came to power via conspiracy. This time is of no difference. But no conspiracy will be effective. As per the constitution, elections will be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
 
About flood, he said that two teams will be sent to southern and northern areas to distribute relief among flood victims.
