Only BNP has record of fleeing: Obaidul

NARAYANGANJ: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday (July 22) reacted to BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s statement that “Quader’s comment on BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s London tour was out of civility”.

Obaidul Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said that his comment ‘Khaleda Zia won’t return home’ was a political statement. He, however, said that the people of Bangladesh know that only the BNP has the record to escape in the politics.

He said these after inaugurating the ‘Digital Touch and Go’, a system for collecting toll in digital way, at Meghna Bridge at Sonargoan in Narayanganj.

Secretary of road transport and bridges ministry MAN Siddique, chief engineer of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) Ibne Alam Hasan and additional secretary Faruk Jalil attended the function, among others.

Earlier on July 21, Mirza Fakhrul at a rally in Thakurgaon said that Obaidul Quader’s comment on Khaleda Zia’s London tour was ‘out of civility’. He said this responding to the AL’s general secretary’s comment that “Not for treatment but Khaleda Zia left country in fear of lawsuit.”
