JESSORE: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the BNP makes warning of movement, but the party has no ability of forging street movement.  

Obaidul Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this while speaking at the council of Jessore district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Jessore Eidgah ground on Monday (July 10).   

He said that the BNP say that that they would forge tougher street movement after Eid. But the party could not forge movement after any Eid.   

Obaidul Quader warned that the Awami League leaders those have indulged in sick politics and lost acceptability among the people will not get nomination in the next Parliamentary elections.

He said that the AL chief Sheikh Hasina is conducting survey across the country in many ways. Only acceptable persons will get nomination based on opinions of the grassroots. Those who got their image dented and lost acceptability won't be considered for nomination, he added.

He asked the party men not to indulge in infighting and sick politics.

He asked the BCL leaders to do the politics of merits taking a strong stance against drug addiction, corruption, militancy, terrorism and extortion.

AL joint general secretary Abdur Rahman, former and current central leaders of the BCL also spoke on the function with BCL’s district unit president Ariful Islam Riyad in the chair.
