FENI: Ruti Sohel, a wanted terrorist in Feni who is accused in several cases including Fulgazi Upazila chairman Ekram murder case, was killed in a reported gunfight with RAB in the early hours on Monday (July 03).

The incident of ‘gunfight’ took place at the home of Shamsul Haque Chairman at Birinchi area in Feni district town.

The RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) recovered a foreign pistol, foreign revolver and several rounds of bullet from the spot.

Commander of RAB-7 Feni Camp Shafayat Jamil Fahim said that on information, a team of RAB conducted a drive at the home. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the Ruti Sohel and his accomplices opened fire, forcing the RAB men to back fire that triggered the ‘gunfight’.

Ruti Sohel is son of Zafar Ahmed of Birinchi area.
