BHOLA: Awami League senior leader and commerce minister Tofail Ahmed claimed that the national elections will be held in time even if BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia doesn’t join it.

The minister said this while addressing as chief guest at a cloth distribution program in Bhola sadar on Saturday (June 24). The program was arranged on the occasion the Eid-ul-Fitr, 
 
Tofail said, “Election will be held in time. There is no matter whether Khaleda Zia takes part in it because she doesn’t have the ability to obstruct the election.”

“They (Khaleda and her party’s allies) failed while trying to foil the elections in 2014, and will be failed this time too.”

Regarding the national budget for fiscal year 2017-18, the minister said, “The current government is a business-friendly one. We have good ties with the businessmen. The finance minister is an experienced and wise one. The budget he has proposed will be passed upon discussion. There is no doubt that people will be content in that very budget.”

Bhola district unit Awami League secretary and Zila parishad chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, Bhola sadar upazila parishad chairman Mosharef Hossain, Vice chairman M Yunus, District Awami League Joint secretary Enamul Haque Arzu, Organising secretary Moinul Hossain Biplob, Bhola sadar upazila Awami League Organising secretary Azizul Islam were present, among others.
