DHAKA: Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (Jagpa), an ally of BNP-led 20-party alliance, President Shafiul Alam Pradhan died in Dhaka on Sunday (May 21).

He was suffering from various physical illnesses for prolonged period.

Shafiul breathed his last at his home in Dhaka’s Asad Gate area, at around 6:30 am, said BNP Media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan. 

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed profound shock at the death of Shafiul.
