CHITTAGONG: Leaders and workers of the BNP brought out a protest procession in Chittagong city on Saturday (May 20) just after the raid at party chief Khaleda Zia’s office at Gulshan in Dhaka.

The Chittagong city unit BNP brought out the procession at about 11:00 am from the Press Club premises in the port city. The procession ended at Kazir Deuri intersection after parading different roads.

A brief rally was held after the procession. President of Chittagong city unit BNP Dr Shahadat Hossain and general secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar spoke at the rally.

Earlier in the morning, police carried out the raid at BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office. The police, however, found no evidence regarding sedition case against Khaleda Zia.

The BNP announced of staging countrywide demonstration on Sunday (May 21) protesting the police raid.
