BNP gets ready for next polls

DHAKA: BNP has worked out a plan to hit the political arena by accelerating its organizational activities ahead of the next general elections.      

The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday (April 25) said that the party is coming in the field through arranging activists’ meeting across the country.

He said this following a meeting of the party’s organizational teams held at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in the city.

The party’s standing committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy and Nazrul Islam Khan, vice chairmen Abdullah al Noman, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Selima Rahman, Enam Ahmed Chowdhury, Shahsuzzaman Dudu, Mohammad Shahjahan and Ruhul Alam CHowdhury and members of the organizational teams attended the meeting.    

Mirza Fakhrul told the journalists that some 51 organizational teams were formed with coordination of BNP’s standing committee members, vice chairmen and advisers under direction of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

He said that the party’s senior leaders will visit districts under the teams. They will inspire the grassroots level leader and activists, he added.

The BNP leader said that the organizational teams’ activity has already been started and it will continue till May 7.

Mirza Fakhrul said that during the district tour, the BNP senior leaders will also discuss the strategy of next street movement, parliamentary elections and the overall situation of the country.  
   
He said that they would forge anti-government movement, and it will now be successful.
