2 female activists of Jamaat held in Jessore

JESSORE: Police detained 2 female activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from Chowgacha upazila in Jessore on Saturday (April 22).

The detainees are—Rexona Begum, 35, and Ferdousi Begum, 30; both hail from Chutarhuda village in Swarupdah union in the upazila.

Moshiur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chowgacha police station, told Banglanews that acting on tip-off that some 10-15 female activists were holding clandestine meeting, police conducted a drive at Rexona’s house and detained them while rest of others managed to flee. 

Some leaflets and report books were recovered from the detainees, said OC Moshiur.
