2 students found dead in Kurigram

KURIGRAM: Police recovered bodies of two students from BSCIC Industrial area under Belgasa union of Kurigram Sadar upazila on Wednesday (September 19).

The deceased were identified as Selina Akter, 14, a daughter of Jabed Ali, hailed from Dakuapara village under Kurigram municipality, an 8th grade student of Amin Uddin Dakhil Madrasa and  Jahangir Alam, 16, son of Syed Ali, hailed from Purba Kallyan village of Belgasa union. He was also an 8th grade student of Kurigram Technical School and College.

Locals spotted the bodies lying near a pump house of the area in the morning.  Police, after being informed, recovered the bodies and sent those to Kurigram Sadar Hosptial morgue for autopsy around 10 am.

Two students went missing since September 18. They knew each other, as informed by police and local sources.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kurigram Sadar Police Station Rawshan Kabir told Banglanews: “The incident could be murder. Apart from that, it is assumed that two of them had an affair.”

Post-mortem report will reveal real cause of death, said Mehedul Karim, superintendent of Kurigram Police.
