GOPALGANJ: Two persons drowned in a pond at Chechaniyakandi area of Gopalganj town on Tuesday (September 18).

The deceased were identified as Suvashini Baido, 50, wife of Gopal Baido, hailed from the abovementioned area, and Chamak Baido, son of Anando Baido. The deceased were grand mother and grand child in relations.

Informed by locals, two of them drowned in the pond while bathing. Later, they were pronounced dead after being taken to Gopalganj General Hospital.

Residential Medical officer Dr Nazmul Islam Laskkar said the duo had died before they came to the hospital.
