DHAKA: 5-tier security has been arranged for the main Eid-ul-Adha jamaat (prayer) scheduled to be held at Jatiya Eidgah on August 22, said, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzman Mia.
Besides, tight security measures are taken for all Eid-ul-Adha jamaat (prayer) of the capital.
DMP Commissioner Asaduzzman Mia told reporters after inspecting security conditions of Jatiya Eidgah on Monday (August 20).
Asaduzzman Mia also said, “The entire area of Jatiya Eidgah, inside and outside, will be monitored by closed-circuit (CC) cameras. DMP control room will control cameras continuously.”
Special Branch (SB) of police, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) members, and other detective members in uniform and in plain clothes will be deployed in and around the ground.
Security door has been set up at archway of the prayer ground. Special arrangements for VIP, including the President, will be made.
Devotees are only allowed to bring Janamaz (prayer rug), but if necessity arises umbrellas could be allowed at the main jamaat.
