DHAKA: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken a two-week special security measures for peaceful celebration of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

RAB Director General (DG) Benazir Ahmed made the announcement at a press briefing in RAB media center in city’s Karwanbazar on Saturday noon (August 18).

DG Benazir said regular traffic update of all roads across the country will provided in RAB facebook page to ensure smoother journey for Eid home-goers.

“RAB is also implementing a two-week security plan prior and after the Eid. A total of 245 patrol teams and 56 striking reserve forces are also deployed across the country,” he said.

Moreover, 20 temporary camps have been established in city’s exit points as thousands of people will be leaving the capital. RAB members will also work with highway and local police to help the Eid travelers, the RAB DG added.
