DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) carried out drives and detained 79 persons including 57 members of doping gangs in separate parts of the capital city.

The drives were conducted on Friday (August 17) night.

DMP Commissioner Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews Saturday (August 18).

The detainees include 57 members of dope gangs, 8 counterfeit banknotes producers, 6 drug dealers and 8 of mugging syndicate, he said.

Counterfeit notes worth Tk 75 lakh, 61,150 yaba and 12 mobile phones were recovered from their possession.   

Details will be disclosed at a press briefing at DMP Media Centre, at noon, Masudur Rahman added.
