KHARGACHARI: Unidentified assailants shot six leaders and activists of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) to death in Shonirbhar area of Khagrachari district sadar early Saturday (August 18).

The shooting took place around 8:45am.

Khagrachari Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahadat Hossain confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

All of the deceased were members of Prosit Bikhash group of UPDF, said sources.

One of them was identified as Tapan Chakma, acting president of Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP).
