6 'muggers' held with knives in Chittagong The detainees

CHITTAGONG: Police carried out a drive and detained six suspected muggers from the Old Railway Station under Kotwali thana in Chittagong city early Friday (August 17).

Two knives were recovered from their possession.

The detainees are—Sumon Barua, 28, Md Yasin, 19, Md Ranju, 20, Md Shamsu, 30, Md Badsha, 35, and Md Zahed, 18.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mohsin told Banglanews that they conducted the drive on secret information that the six muggers were taking preparation for mugging.

A case was field against the detainees.

They are professional muggers, added the OC.
