DHAKA: Overheated Dhaka residents have no immediate scope to heave sigh of relief as the weather forecasters predict no fall of temperature immediately.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department says the mercury could hit 35.7C in Dhaka Wednesday (August 15).

“Weather is likely to remain mainly dry over the area,” warns the forecast for Dhaka and neighborhoods, commencing at 1:00pm with next six hours of validity.

On Tuesday (August 14), rush-hour commuters in the capital city went into meltdown in up to 36.3C.

Humidity rise in air causes the hot spell, stated meteorologists.

Wind direction and speed at Dhaka has been forecasted at 10-15kph South/South-easterly and 25-30kph with temporary gusting.

‘Little change’ is in outlook for the next 72 hrs.

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no.3. A well-marked low over Northwest Bay and adjoining area now lies over northwest Bay and adjoining West Bengal-Odisha coast. It is likely to intensify further.
