Mirpur gas line blast injures 10 RMG workers

DHAKA: At least 10 workers sustained injuries as the gas line adjoining to a readymade garments factory blasted in Mirpur section-13 of Dhaka Tuesday (August 14).

Three units of Fire Service rushed to the spot and rescued the workers.

Fire Service & Civil Defence Headquarters Duty Officer Lima Khan confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The explosion erupted from the leakage of a gas line adjoined to the factory wall of Opex Garments, while the workers were entering the workplace in the morning, said a colleague of Nazma, 30, an injured worker who has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Most of the injured workers underwent treatment at the local hospitals while Nazma was taken to DMCH.

DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia confirmed the matter.
