2 ‘yaba traders’ killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘shootout’

COX’S BAZAR: Two suspected yaba traders were killed in a reported shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Tuesday (August 14).

Some 4,44,000 yaba pills and four pistols were recovered from their possession.

The shootout reportedly took place at Panerchhara Dhala area of Ramu, around 7:30am. 

RAB-7 Cox’s Bazar Camp Commander Maj Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The deceased were identified as Md Nizam Uddin, 30, and Ratan Rudro, 31, residents of Lohagara upazila of Chittagong.

“The bullet-hit bodies of the duo were taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where the on-duty physician pronounced them dead,” said Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman.
