DHAKA: Thousands of leaders, activists and supporters of ruling Awami League have gathered at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital to accord a reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her glorious achievements.

The premier has arrived at the venue at 3:30 pm on Saturday (July 21).  The program has kicked off with a cultural dance show.

The party is set to honour its President Sheikh Hasina for her contributions to the successful the launch of the Bangabandhu-1 satellite, country’s graduation from ‘least developed’ to ‘developing’ status, attainment of the Global Women's Leadership Award in Australia, and Doctor of Literature (DLitt) degree from Kazi Nazrul University (KNU) of India.

Senior party leaders and eminent personalities of the society have graced the main podium. 

Tight security measures have been taken to ensure security for the program.
