DHAKA: An accused of murder died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) under custody on Saturday morning (July 21).

The deceased was identified as Hasmat Ullah, 80, hailed from Raipura upazila of Narsingdi. 

He was taken to DMCH in an unconscious condition from Keraniganj central jail around 10:00am where duty doctor pronounced him dead. 

Prison guard Barek told Banglanews that Hasmat (Prisoner no- 19324/17) was an accused in a 2007 murder case filed with Jatrabari police station.
 
On Saturday morning, he fell ill due to old age complications and taken to DMCH. The body is being kept at hospital morgue, Barek added.
